A backlight assembly and an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) including the same are provided to dispose lamps to be parallel to the ground when performing horizontal and vertical view modes through a pivot function, thereby preventing deterioration of lifetime of the lamps and solving problems such as brightness non-uniformity. A display unit(130) displays images. A backlight unit(150) comprises a lamp(151), a light guide plate(152) and a reflection plate(160). The lamp supplies light to the display unit. The light guide plate guides the light from the lamp to the display unit. The reflection plate is disposed below the light guide plate. An optical film unit(140) is disposed between the display unit and the backlight unit, and includes a diffusion film, a prism film and a brightness enhancement film. The lamps are at least two or more, and arranged to be vertical to each other. |
