A device and a method for covering soil around the root of a tree are provided to prevent weeds from generating around the root and increase the soil temperature around the root by using a water-permeable, heat-retaining and fire-resisting material, thereby enhancing the root vitality and rooting rate. A device for covering soil around the root of a tree comprises: a tree-trunk passing hole(14) through which the trunk of a tree is passed; a plurality of cut-piece parts(12) which are spread radially; a plurality of pierced holes(18); and an inserting part(16) which is cut off to insert the trunk into the tree-trunk passing hole. The device is made of woven fabric or nonwoven fabric. A method for covering soil around the root of a tree comprises: placing the cut-piece parts at the circumference of the trunk of a tree; and fastening a tightening-type fixing protector to the cut-piece parts. |
