A portable terminal having a hinge unit is provided to increase the convenience of usage by enabling a pair of housings, combined so as to be folded, to be rotated at various angles. A portable terminal(100) consists of the first housing(101), the second housing(102) and a hinge unit. The second housing(102) is folded or unfolded for the first housing(101), rotating with the first hinge axis in the center. The hinge unit, which rotatively connects the second housing(102) with the first housing(101), comprises the first hinge member, the second hinge member(202), and a locking unit. The first hinge member, combined facing the first housing(101), rotates with the second hinge axis in the center. The second hinge member(202), combined facing the second housing(102), rotates with the third hinge axis(A3) in the center. The locking unit, provided between the first hinge member and the first housing(101) or between the second hinge member and the second housing(102), restrains the first and second hinge members from rotating for the second and third hinge axes.
