A coating weight control system and a coating weight control method are provided to control the coating weight highly accurately by preset calculation using a coating weight prediction model that properly compensates estrangement from the actual coating behavior. A coating weight control system comprises: a preset unit(102) for receiving a target coating value from a manufacturing information table(101) and calculating a control instruction value of an operation part to realize a new target value during the conversion of a strip; a preset timing generation unit(103) for receiving a strip speed from a plating plant and tracking the position of a welding point to generate starting timing of the preset unit; a stability determination unit(104) for determining whether gaps or pressures of nozzles and strip speeds are stable values or not, and determining coating weights detected by a coating weight gauge(155) are values corresponding to the stable values or not; a coating weight estimation unit(105) for estimating a coating amount adhered to the strip from the gaps or pressures of nozzles and strip speeds; an adaptation unit(106) for calculating the alienation degree between a coating weight prediction model in the present plating plant and coating behavior in the plating plant; an adaptation result memory unit(107) for storing the calculation result of the adaptation unit; a model error storage unit(110) for storing a difference between an output of the coating weight estimation unit and detected values of the coating weight gauge; a learning unit(108) for securing the alienation degree between a coating weight prediction model in a similar controlled state and coating behavior in the plating plant using data stored in the model error storage unit; and a learning result memory unit(109) for storing a calculation result of the learning unit correspondingly to a controlled state.
