A hinge assembly having a head levitation structure and a portable terminal having the same are provided to stabilize the opening and closing of two bodies and the levitation of a head by locating the components of rotation force to semiautomatically open and close the two bodies at the rotation center of a hinge in order to prevent a degree of freedom from being generated by the levitation of the head and the hinge. A hinge assembly having a head levitation structure comprises a hinge unit(100), a plurality of guide members(170a,170b), and a head. The hinge unit(100) consists of the first hinge body(110a) and the second hinge body(110b). The first hinge body(110a) and the second hinge body(110b) are combined so as to be rotated at a regular angle by a shaft(160). The guide members(170a,170b) are installed at the first hinge body and the second hinge body(110b). The head, guided by the guide members(170a,170b) according to a rotation angle of the hinge unit(100), is combined with the guide members(170a,170b) so as to get near to or go away from the shaft(160).
