An optical film, a manufacturing method for the same, and a liquid crystal display device are provided to increase the mechanical strength and heat resistant characteristic of the optical film having polymer and copolymer layers formed in turn, by drawing the optical film in a first drawing direction and then drawing the optical film in a second drawing direction. An optical film(100) is composed of a polymer layer(101) having a first refractive index along a first drawing direction on a plane and a second refractive index along a second drawing direction and a copolymer layer(103) formed on the polymer layer and provided with a third refractive index along the first and second drawing directions. Difference between the first and third refractive indexes is bigger than difference between the second and third refractive indexes.
