A system and a method for processing electronic cash payment in the mobile network are provided to process the payment using electronic cash charged in a smart card mounted on a mobile terminal by receiving payment authentication in the mobile network. A smart card(32) is charged with a predetermined amount of electronic cash, provides card authentication information, which is a signature value of the smart card, and requests a payment approval to process the payment using the electronic cash through the mobile network. A mobile terminal(30) is mounted with the smart card, requests the payment approval through the network based on the card authentication information stored in the smart card when the payment approval using the electronic cash is requested, and processes the payment and offsets a payment amount from the electronic cash charged in the smart card when the payment is completed. A payment authentication system completes the payment by receiving and authenticating the card authentication information of the smart card, and requests the mobile terminal to offset the payment amount. The payment authentication system includes a payment management server(36) and an authentication server(38). |
