A display apparatus and a driving method thereof are provided to reduce power consumption by driving divided areas of a display panel using different inverting schemes from one another. A display apparatus includes a display panel(300) and a driver(200). The display panel includes first and second display parts for displaying images. The driver generates first and second data signals for driving the first and second display parts as first and second inverting modes, respectively. The display panel includes a pixel unit connected to data and gate lines. The driver includes a gate driver, an inverting controller, and a data driver. The gate driver is connected to the gate lines. The inverting controller outputs an inverting selection signal for selecting the first and second inverting modes. The data driver outputs selectively the first and second data signals to the data lines in response to the inverting selection signal.
