A tread pattern of a heavy duty pneumatic radial tire is provided to minimize uneven wear caused by heel and toe abrasion by reducing the height of difference between a block and a groove. A tread pattern of a heavy duty pneumatic radial tire comprises a longitudinal groove(10), a transversal groove(20), an auxiliary groove(35), and a shaft(40). The longitudinal groove includes a center groove(11) formed on the center contact surface of the tire in a zigzag manner, and a side groove(12) formed on both sides of the surface in a zigzag manner. The transversal groove includes main grooves(21) formed on shoulders of the tire having pitch same as that of the longitudinal groove, and minor grooves(22) interposed between the main grooves, respectively. The auxiliary groove partitions a gap between the longitudinal grooves, which connects the center groove with side grove, into a plurality of central blocks(30). The shaft is disposed along the centerline of the central blocks.
