READER/WRITER FOR CONTACTLESS INTEGRATED CIRCUIT CARDS AND MANAGEMENT SYSTEM FOR VENDING MACHINES

A reader/writer for a contactless IC card and a system for managing vending machines are provided to transmit mass data efficiently between a portable reader/writer and the reader/writer of the vending machine through the contactless IC card. A communicator(25) outputs electromagnetic wave to communicate with a contactless IC card(2). A determiner determines whether the contactless IC card arranged in the coverage communicates with a second reader/writer(12). A communication controller prohibits the communicator from outputting the electromagnetic wave according to a determination result representing that the contactless IC card communicates with the second reader/writer. The communication controller enables the contactless IC card to start communicating with the second reader/writer by responding to the determination result representing that the contactless IC card does not communicate with the second reader/writer. The determiner determines that the contactless IC card communicates with the second reader/writer when the different electromagnetic wave exceeds a threshold level.
