An apparatus and a method for transmitting and receiving RF signals are provided to eliminate signal interference, to reduce the size of a chip, and to minimize the consumption of output power. An apparatus for transmitting and receiving RF signals comprises a frequency-variable oscillator(200), a signal transmitter(500), a signal receiver(400), a bidirectional mixer(300), and a switching part(310). The frequency-variable oscillator(200) outputs an oscillation signal having a regular frequency. The signal transmitter(500) outputs a differential signal of a frequency band contained in either a baseband or an IF band. The signal receiver(400) receives a differential signal of a frequency band contained in either the baseband or the IF band. Using the oscillation signal outputted from the frequency-variable oscillator(200), the bidirectional mixer(300) converts the differential signal outputted from the signal transmitter(500) into an RF signal. Also the bidirectional mixer(300) converts a received RF signal into a baseband or IF differential signal the signal receiver(400) will receive. The switching part(310) performs switching so that the output of the signal transmitter(500) can be inputted to the bidirectional mixer(300) or the output of the bidirectional mixer(300) can be inputted to the signal receiver(400). |
