A multi-tone generator and a method for generating a multi-tone using the same are provided to reduce a chip size and a manufacturing cost by generating at least two MB-OFDM(Multi-Band Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) band groups simply. A multi-tone generator includes a first frequency generation unit(210), a second frequency generation unit(220), a third frequency generation unit(230), a channel switch unit(240), a multi-phase filter(250), a frequency divider(260), and an output buffer(270). The first frequency generation unit generates a first differential signal corresponding to a first band frequency of each of at least two band groups. The second frequency generation unit generates a second differential signal corresponding to a second band frequency of each of the frequency band groups. The third frequency generation unit generates a third differential signal corresponding to a third band frequency of each of the frequency band groups. The channel switch unit selects one of the first, second and third differential signals. The multi-phase filter generates a four-phase signal by multi-phase-filtering an output signal of the channel switch unit. The frequency divider divides a frequency of the output signal of the channel switch unit, and generates the frequency-divided four-phase signal. The output buffer unit buffers and outputs at least one of the four-phase signal and the frequency-divided phase signal.
