摘要
本发明之课题在于提供一种高亮度且长寿命之冷阴极萤光灯及此灯用电极。利用由铑、钯与此等之合金组成的群组所选出之一种材料以形成电极表面之至少一部分。例如,于基材上形成由如此材料所构成的表面层。另外,为了提高表面层与基材之紧贴,于基材上形成由金或金合金所构成的接合层。由于铑等金属难以与水银合金化,为高熔点,具备由此金属所构成的电极之冷阴极萤光灯能够减低:形成汞齐而消耗水银,且因无法充分放电而造成亮度降低。另外,由于能够减低水银之消耗及电极之消耗,此灯之寿命为长的。
