A MOVEABLE STRETCHER SUPPORT STRUCTURE A movable stretcher support structure in a vehicle is dependent from aside structure of the vehicle, and comprising a stretcher support member engage able to the side structure by at least one support arm which is dependent from the side structure in a cantilevered relationship. The arm is movable relative to the side structure to thereby allow horizontal movement of the stretcher support member relative to the side structure and the back door of the vehicle between an extended stretcher supporting position and a retracted and stowed position which places the stretcher support member more proximate to the side structure than in the extended stretcher supporting position. In the extended position, the stretcher is better positioned for loading and unloading of the stretcher to and from the vehicle.
