An apparatus for monitoring the backside of a vehicle using a mobile communication device is provided to improve convenience of installation by using Bluetooth communication parts according to the protocol of IEEE 802.15.1. An apparatus for monitoring the backside of a vehicle using a mobile communication device comprises a mobile communication device(100), and a rear camera device(200). The mobile communication device displays an image of the backside of the vehicle to require pairing according to the protocol. The rear camera device transmits the image of the backside to the mobile communication device to execute pairing by replying to the requirement of the pairing according to the protocol from the mobile communication device. The mobile communication device consists of a control part, a first Bluetooth communication part, an image processing part, and a display part. The control part controls receiving of the image of the backside from the rear camera device in confirming pairing. The first Bluetooth communication part receives the image of the backside from the rear camera device. The image processing part processes an image signal of the backside from the first Bluetooth communication part. The display part outputs the image from the image processing part on a screen. The rear camera device includes a rear camera, an image processing part, and a second Bluetooth communication part.
