System and method for providing preferred country biasing of search results

A system (10) and method for ordering search results (37), implemented within a computing device, is disclosed. The system (10) comprises: (a) a country selector (49) that dynamically determines at least one preferred country applicable to the search results generated responsive to a search query (36) executed on information (47) in a data repository and provided from a plurality of search result countries (39), where the at least one preferred country (39) is determined based on characteristics of the search query (36) or the search results (37); (b) a search result orderer (34) determines an order for presenting at least one of the search results (37) among other ones of the search results (37) based on whether the at least one of the search results (37) is from the at least one preferred country (39); and (c) a presenter (35) that presenting the search results (37) in the determined order.
