Trigger assembly for a power tool

A trigger assembly is disclosed for a power tool having a motor disposed within a housing. The trigger assembly comprises a switch disposed within the housing for activating the motor, and trigger extending from the housing and engageable by a user. The trigger has a front portion and a link member and being siideably moveable between a rearward position and a forward position. The trigger assembly is arranged such that when the trigger is in its forward position, the link member engages the switch to operate the motor and the front portion is pivotably movable towards the housing to engage the housing and thereby to lock the trigger in its forward position. When the trigger is in its rearward position, the link member is disengaged from the switch, such that the motor is turned off, and the head portion is not pivotably engageable with the housing.
