A vacuum cleaner is provided to prevent hair from being wound on a brush by sucking hair first and sending it to a suction passage before cleaning a floor. A vacuum cleaner comprises a suction head, a rotary brush(64), and hair tunnels(66,68). The suction head is installed at the front end of a suction passage. The foreign material is sucked from a floor through a suction port(62h) of the suction head. The suction passage sucks dust and dirt with vacuum pressure generated by a suction motor. The rotary brush is installed on the suction head and the suction port, and rotated to come into contact with the floor. The hair tunnels are formed at the suction head not to interfere with the brush, and sucks long and thin materials from the floor first.
