A backlight unit of an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) is provided to spread light uniformly to the front of a light guide plate by enabling the light emitted from a light emitting lamp to be applied through a Fresnel lens unit of a lens, concentrated, fully reflected, diffused and applied within the light guide plate, thereby improving luminance and light uniformity and preventing a bright line. A light emitting lamp(24) emits light. A light guide plate(21) is disposed in the rear of an LC(Liquid Crystal) panel and emits the light, emitted from the light emitting lamp, to a surface light source towards an LC panel. A lens(22) is disposed between the light emitting lamp and the light guide plate, and comprises a light apply unit(22b), a groove(22a) and a Fresnel lens(22c). To the light apply unit, the light emitted from the light emitting lamp is applied. The groove has a tilt surface for fully reflecting the light applied through the light apply unit. The Fresnel lens is formed in a form of plural concentric circles on the outside of the light apply unit. |
