A system for notifying a mobile terminal of a data rate in real time and a method thereof are provided to enable a subscriber to control an excessive use of the wireless Internet by transmitting a short message indicating a data rate to a subscriber terminal according to the request of a subscriber just after the completion of a wireless Internet service. A subscriber terminal(10) is connected to the wireless Internet by a built-in web browser, and pops up automatically a message of inquiring whether a communication charge is checked when the connection with the wireless Internet is completed. A data provision server(30) provides a predetermined WAP(Wireless Application Protocol) page or contents to the subscriber terminal according to the request of the subscriber terminal connected through the wireless Internet and transmits service information including a data amount for the WAP page or the contents transmitted to the subscriber terminal and a telephone number to a charging server(40). The charging server checks a data rate plan pre-assigned by a subscriber referring to the telephone number of a corresponding subscriber terminal and counts the data amount by service type transmitted from the data provision server, if the service information is transmitted from the data provision server, and calculates the data rate by service type reflecting the data rate plan of the subscriber to the counted data amount, when the wireless Internet connection of the subscriber terminal is completed, and stores the data rate in a DB(DataBase)(41). |
