A method and an apparatus for coloring patterns on a metal insect screen, and a metal insect screen having the colored patterns are provided to prevent clogging of undesired mesh openings, and to enhance bonding between coatings and a surface of metal fibers. A method for coloring patterns on a metal insect screen(10) having a body(14), which is woven by metal fibers forming a plurality of mesh openings, comprises the steps of: attaching powder coatings on each surface of the metal fibers that form the body in predetermined patterns(20); applying adhesives over the surface of the metal fiber to bond the powder coatings thereto; and supplying a predetermined voltage to opposite ends of the metal fibers of the body with the powder coatings applied for melting the powder coatings.
