STORAGE DEVICE OF BLOCK STATUS DATA IN FLASH MEMORY DEVICE

A block status storage device of a flash memory device is provided to arrange latch cells in a latch cell array in column and row directions to increase storage capacity of block status information while reducing an occupied area of a chip. A memory cell array includes a plurality of blocks. A block status storing unit(110) includes a plurality of latch cells arranged in column and row directions and storing block status information corresponding to each block. The block status storing unit provides the block status information in response to a write address and a read address respectively. A control unit controls access to the memory cell array in response to the block status information.
