A method and an apparatus for reducing power consumption of an electronic device are provided to offer a power supply voltage for minimizing power consumption of the electronic device. In an apparatus for reducing power consumption of an electronic device, a database(410) stores consumed power values of the electronic device measured according to an output current value and a power supply voltage value. An output current sensing part(430) senses an output current outputted from an output stage of the electronic device. A power supply voltage sensing part(440) senses a power supply voltage supplied to the electronic device. A control part(420) controls a power supply voltage value by comparing the consumed power value stored in the database with a consumed power value based on the sensed output current and the power supply voltage. A power supply voltage control part(450) controls the power supply voltage value supplied to the electronic device according to the controlled power supply voltage value.
