A powerless digital picture frame system of wireless data transmission type and a control method thereof are provided to make a wireless-powerless digital picture frame simple by driving the digital picture frame through remote-transmission in a wireless data transmission assist device. In a powerless digital picture frame system of wireless data transmission type, a wireless-powerless digital picture frame(200) forms an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) panel(210) by a reflecting plate and has a battery(230) using solar heat and a remote receiving unit(240). The digital picture frame is operated by no power-wireless. A wireless data transmission assist device(300) communicates with the wireless-powerless digital picture frame by wireless, processes data into images and remotely transmits the image to the digital picture frame, and transmits an indirect lighting to the digital picture frame.
