PACKET FILLTERING APPARATUS AND METHOD IN NETWORK SYSTEM USING MOBILE IP NETWORK

An apparatus and a method for filtering packets in a network system using a mobile IP are provided to prevent a CoTI message or an HoTI message as one of plural authentication messages from being dropped by a packet filter rule in a packet filtering device before being transmitted from a mobile node to a correspondent node. A mobile node(370) transmits a packet including mobile IP(Internet Protocol) information capable of passing through a packet filter rule. A packet filtering device(320) determines whether an address included in the information is consistent with a source address stored in the packet filter rule and determines whether to pass the packet according to the determination result. The information capable of passing the packet filter rule is a home address of the mobile node.
