An LCD is provided to enable charge of a data voltage during a short period of time by previously charging a sustain capacitance in synchronization with a previous gate signal. A plurality of pixels respectively includes a switching device(Q) providing a data voltage to a liquid crystal capacitance(Clc) according to a scan signal., a sustain capacitance(Cst) connected with the liquid crystal capacitance and sustaining the data voltage, and a sustain voltage supply unit supplying a sustain voltage to the sustain capacitance according to a previous scan signal. A plurality of scan lines is arranged in a row direction to transmit the scan signal. A plurality of data lines is arranged in a column direction to transmit the data voltage. A plurality of sustain voltage lines is arranged in a row direction to transmit the sustain voltage. The pixel includes sides in the row direction and the column direction, and the side in the row direction is longer than the side in the column direction.
