A composite light emitting material and a light emitting device comprising the same are provided to enhance a light emitting characteristic and to maximize an energy transfer effect by mixing properly light-emitting wavelengths and light-absorbing wavelengths of light emitting materials. A composite light emitting material includes two or more elements of inorganic phosphor, a semiconductor nano-crystal, and an organic dye. The composite light emitting material is coated with the elements. The composite light emitting material includes the organic dye and the semiconductor nano-crystal within a transparent metal oxide matrix. The composite light emitting material includes a core material and a transparent coating layer. The core material is formed of inorganic phosphor and the semiconductor nano-crystal.
