A lawn mower 2 comprises a body 4 having a base 8 that comprises a cutting unit and a cover 46 for association with the cutting unit and/or the base when the mower is being stored. One or more apertures 60 or slots 62 are defined in the cover and/or between the cover and the base or cutting unit to allow air to circulate. This allows grass cuttings to dry out on the mower during storage without turning to foul-smelling compost. The apertures and slots may be in the form of louvers or angled slots. The cover may be detachably connected to the base or may be movably mounted on the mower. A method of storing a lawn mower is further disclosed, wherein the cover is moved to at least partially cover the cutting unit and/or the base. A cover suitable for use with the lawn mower is also disclosed. |
