A backlight assembly is provided to improve a fixing force of a lamp and a lamp holder by using a lamp holder fixing the lamp covered with a metal cover at both ends of a glass tube. A lamp is covered with a metal cover(134) at both ends of a glass tube(132) and generates light. A lamp holder fixes the lamp covered with the metal cover. A light guide plate guides the light. A sheet group improves efficiency of light emitted to the light guide plate. The lamp holder includes a socket body(140), a socket clip(150) inserted in the socket body and receiving the metal cover, and a socket cover(160) coupled with the socket body to prevent movement of the socket body. The socket clip includes an insertion terminal(152) receiving the metal cover, a support portion(154) connected with the insertion terminal and supporting the lamp, a bent portion(156) connected with the insertion terminal and the support portion and inserted in the socket body for fixation, and a coupling portion(158) inserted at a lower portion of the socket body and including insertion members for the clip at both sides. |
