A brightness control circuit of a backlight is provided to control minimum brightness and maximum brightness of a light emission part by providing a current control part which changes the magnitude of the current flowing to the light emission part in response to a control signal. A DC/DC converter(110) converts a voltage level of input DC power(100). A light emission part(120) is driven upon receiving voltage output from the DC/DC converter. A current control part(130) changes a current flowing to the light emission part in response to a control signal, and controls minimum brightness and maximum brightness of the light emission part. The light emission part includes a plurality of light emitting diodes which are connected in series. The current control part includes a first resistance connected to the light emitting diode in series, at least one second resistance connected to the first resistance in series, and at least one switch connected between a connection point and a ground between the first resistance and the second resistances, and is selectively switched on/off in response to the control signal. |
