An apparatus and a method for providing information about video data stored in a digital video device, and a recording medium recording a program for implementing the same are provided to supply a user with the information about the stored video data without the necessity that the user has to search the stored video data one by one. A channel list generating unit(182) generates channel list data by searching a broadcasting channel received through a digital video device. A link unit(184) respectively links the channel list data with video data and information data included in broadcasting data stored according to a broadcasting selection signal and a broadcasting data storage signal in the digital video device. The channel list data is outputted through the digital video device to display the link information of the video data and the information data, and provides information about the video data by using the information data linked with the channel list data. The information data includes transport stream information and recording information of the video data. A broadcasting data processor(170), which includes a demodulator(172), a TS(Transfer Stream) parsing unit(174), a video ES(Element Stream) buffer(176) and an audio ES buffer(178), process broadcasting data in order for a user to watch the received data through a display unit(130) and a sound output unit(140). |
