A method and a system for teaching a foreign language are provided to allow a user to use a sound providing a visual stream or an audio stream to the user if the sound is created or selected for the user. A method and a system for teaching a foreign language includes a step of appraising a target foreign language ability of a user knowing a basic word. A text comprising the basic word and a target foreign word is provided to the user. The amount of foreign language words is depended on the appraised target foreign language ability. The text is displayed on a screen. The text is provided to the user with an audio type. The text is accepted with the basic word(500). The text is accepted with the target foreign language. A mixed language text set is prepared by performing one of substituting the basic word in a basic word text for the target foreign language word and substituting the target foreign language word in the target foreign language word text for the basic word(506).
