An apparatus for controlling a PTO(Power Take Off) unit of a tank lorry is provided to prevent unnecessary pressure from being applied to a valve, a hose and a tube by allowing the PTO unit to stop working upon a completion of oiling. An apparatus for controlling a PTO unit of a tank lorry comprises a housing(110) installed at a lower rear side of a tank, a driving switch(200), a main controller(300) and a remote controller(400) for controlling an operation of the main controller. The driving switch is in contact with a rear side of a door of the housing to be operated when the door is opened. The driving switch generates electrical signals to a solenoid valve provided in the tank lorry to block a connection between a first line of a three-way valve and a clutch of the tank lorry. The main controller operates a clutch controlling unit(310) to provide oil pressure to a second line of the three-way valve, which is converted by the driving switch, and simultaneously operates the PTO.
