POWER LINE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM AND POWER LINE COMMUNICATION METHOD

A power line communication system comprises a power line (L) having a plurality of branch lines (LB1-LBn) branched at a branch point; communication apparatuses (T1-Tn) that are connected to the branch lines (LB1-LBn) and transmit and receive data via the branch lines (LB1-LBn); and a relay apparatus (1) that is disposed at a branch point and relays a data transmission. The power line communication system further comprises a branching apparatus (Y), which includes a plurality of couplers (K1-Kn) that couple the relay apparatus (1) to the plurality of branch lines (LB1-LBn) and that have different resonant frequencies for the respective branch lines. The relay apparatus (1) performs the data transmission by changing the communication frequency to the resonant frequency of each branch line (LB1-LBn) through which the data is transmitted.
