摘要 Mesoporous silica for reducing nitrate nitrogen and a method for producing the same are provided to prevent nano-sized zero-valent iron from being oxidized, by synthesizing silica having uniform mesopores and adsorbing the nano-sized zero-valent iron on surfaces of the mesopores. Mesoporous silica is prepared by obtaining a mixture in which tetrabutyl orthosilicate and 3-mercaptopropyltrimethoxysilica are mixed at a mole ratio of 1:0.1-0.25, stirring the mixture through a casting material under a basic ambience. The casting material is selected from a group consisting of tetradecyltrimethylammonium bromide, cetyltrimethylammonium bromide, cetyldimethylethylammonium bromide, and cetyltrimethylammonium chloride. The mesoporous silica reacts with a divalent iron solution or a trivalent iron solution. The resultant mesoporous silica reacts with a reducing agent to adsorb zero-valent nanoiron in meso-pores of the mesoporous silica.
