<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing an elastic body roller and a metal mold for molding that dispense with end processing of a molded elastic body roller by suppressing variation in axial position of an elastic body roller end surface depending upon the metal mold for molding and mold clamping force when the elastic body roller is molded. <P>SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing the elastic body roller includes: a first step of fitting a member into which a cored bar is inserted to one end of a metal mold body which has a nearly columnar cavity and has both ends opened and mounting another different member on the other end of the metal mold body; a second step of injecting a material of an elastic body into the cavity; and a third step of curing the material by heating the metal mold body. In the first step, the members and metal mold body are brought into close contact with each other by axially applying force to the members so that planes of the metal mold body and members which are perpendicular to the center axis of the cavity, and tapered surfaces of the metal mold body and members which form conic flanks having the same center axis as the center axis of the cavity both contact each other at the same time. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
