<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming method using a coloring matter thermal transfer system which has high-speed printing suitability and an excellent light resistance and enables attainment of a high image density and also excels in a reverse transfer resistance of an image. <P>SOLUTION: An ink layer of a thermal transfer ink sheet which has the ink layer containing thermally-diffusive coloring matter chelatable with a metal, and a coloring matter accepting layer of a thermal transfer image accepting sheet which has the coloring matter accepting layer containing a metal ion containing compound capable of forming a metal chelate compound in reaction with the chelatable thermally-diffusive coloring matter, are superposed on a base sheet and heated in the shape of the image in conformity with recording signals so that the thermally-diffusive coloring matter of the thermal transfer ink sheet is transferred onto the thermal transfer image accepting sheet. In this image forming method, the thermal transfer image accepting sheet contains a polyvinyl acetal resin, while a ligand capable of coordinating with a metal ion coordinates with the metal ion in the metal ion containing compound and ClogP of the ligand is 6.0 or above. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
