<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus in which the surface of an image holder can be satisfactorily kept suitable for image formation. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus 1 is provided with: a photoreceptor drum 11; a charging roll 12 for charging the surface of the photoreceptor drum 11; a laser exposure device 13 for forming an electrostatic latent image in accordance with acquired image information; a developing device 60 for forming a toner image by developing the electrostatic latent image; a primary transfer roll 14 for transferring the toner image to a transferred object; a cleaning device 70 for cleaning the surface of the photoreceptor drum 11 after the transfer of the toner image by a cleaning roll 72 having a surface layer formed from fiber cloth; and a mechanism control part 51 for performing control so that a difference (V<SB>cln</SB>) between the charging bias of the charging roll 12 and the developing bias of the developing device 60 is increased when the image information is image information in which a prescribed condition that toner consumption on a specific portion in a main scanning direction is less than a preset quantity is continued. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
