<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processing apparatus for allowing a user to view a plurality of scrambled digital broadcastings simultaneously, using only one storage medium which offers a descramble key. <P>SOLUTION: A processor 21 at a copyright protection LSI 20-1 discriminates whether a B-CAS (B-Conditional Access System) card reader 40 installed with a B-CAS card 100 offering a MULTI2 descramble key can be used exclusively or not using an in-use flag at a B-CAS status register 27. The flag shows that a corresponding copyright protection LSI uses the card reader. Only when other copyright protections LSI does not use the card reader, the MULTI2 descramble key is read from the B-CAS card. Then, packet groups contained in received streams are decoded. Packet groups corresponding to broadcasting data to be viewed among the decoded packet groups are encrypted using a session key as an encryption key and outputted to a user access path.
