<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle control device capable of reporting dropping of a portable machine at nearest possible place from the place of dropping, while suppressing draining of a battery of the portable machine. <P>SOLUTION: This vehicle control device 25 is provided with a transmission/reception circuit 17 for transmitting a code request signal to confirm whether or not a smart key 50 for approval of a use permission of a motorcycle 1 is located within a prescribed range of the motorcycle 1 to the smart key 50 by a prescribed transmission period to detect the dropping of the smart key 50 and receiving a code signal transmitted from the smart key 50 receiving the code request signal, a code collating part 18 for performing a code collation of the code signal received by the transmission/reception circuit 17, and a control part 12 for changing the transmission period of the code request signal according to a traveling state of the motorcycle 1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
