<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a headlamp for a vehicle capable of suppressing the irradiation of high beam on an object prohibited in irradiation while ensuring visibility in a distance by using the high beam. <P>SOLUTION: The headlamp 10 for the vehicle comprises a plurality of high-beam units for allowing a plurality of high-beam irradiation areas 24A-24H formed in the vehicle width direction forward of the vehicle to be individually irradiated with high beams, a detection means for detecting whether or not the object prohibited in irradiation is present in one of the plurality of high-beam irradiation areas 24A-24H, and a control means for turning on or turning off the plurality of high-beam units, and turning off the high-beam unit in the high-beam irradiation area 24 in which the object prohibited in irradiation is present (for example, the high-beam irradiation area 24B) when the detection means detects the present of the object prohibited in irradiation (for example, an oncoming car 25). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
