<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuchsine-colored composition for color filter, with high dispersion stability, high storage stability in particular. <P>SOLUTION: The fuchsine-colored composition for color filter comprises a pigment vehicle consisting of a transparent resin, its precursor or their mixture, a quinacridone-based fuchsine-colored pigment, and a quinacridone-based pigment dispersant represented by the general formula(1)[ wherein, X is SO<SB>2</SB>, CO or CH<SB>2</SB>; m and n are each an integer of 1-4; R<SB>1</SB>and R<SB>2</SB>are each a (substituted) alkyl or combined together to form a heterocyclic ring that may also contain nitrogen, oxygen or sulfur atom(s) ].
