PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotating electric machine for a vehicle which can improve a space factor of a stator winding, and also can achieve a high output, high efficiency and the enhancement of durability together with the improvement of the space factor. SOLUTION: An AC generator for a vehicle comprises: a rotatively-driven rotor; a stator 2 which has a stator core 22 oppositely arranged with respect to the rotor, and the stator winding installed at a slot 25 of the stator core 22; and a frame which supports the rotor and the stator 2. The stator winding is constituted of a plurality of electric conductors having almost rectangular cross sections, the plurality of electric conductors are aggregated with two or more pieces as one set, and insulating films 24 are formed around the electric conductors or between the electric conductors.
