PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To return to a demonstration mode by automatically detecting, even when the adjustment value is changed in a video display device that is operating in the demonstration mode. SOLUTION: When it is discriminated whether a specific card medium has been inserted (S2) during a normal operation (S1), a timer is set (S3). If the operation is a user operation (S4), the timer is then updated (S9). After the lapse of a predetermined time (t) according to counting by the timer (S5), it is discriminated again whether the card medium has been inserted (S6); and if it is inserted, it is discriminated whether audio/video setting has been changed into a value that is different from the demonstration mode (S7). If it is set to a value different from the demonstration mode, audio/video setting is changed into the setting of the demonstration mode (S8).
