PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To absorb a difference in transfer rate between first and second information signals transferred between an information signal recording medium and a buffer memory. SOLUTION: When absorbing the difference between the transfer rate of the first and second information signals by one pickup head to an information signal recording medium and the transfer rate of the first and second information signals in the buffer memory, the first and second information signals are reproduced so that the following equation may be satisfied: (Ya+Yb)≥Rp×(Ra+Rb)×(Tab+Tba)/(Rp-Ra-Rb), wherein (Rp) denotes a transfer rate of the first and second information signals by one pickup head, (Ra) denotes the transfer rate of the first information signal, (Rb) denotes the transfer rate of the second information signal, (Ya) denotes the recording capacity of the first information signal, (Yb) denotes the recording capacity of the second information signal, (Tba) denotes seek time required to move the pickup head from a first area to a second area on the information signal recording medium, and (Tba) denotes seek time required to move the pickup head from the second area to the first area on the information signal recording medium.
