PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem, wherein when a copy-once content is compressed to low image quality and moved, it is impossible to view the copy-once-content in high image quality again by a conventional move function. SOLUTION: A recording and reproducing apparatus comprises a holding part (0101) for holding contents, including the copy-once-content; a duplication part (0102) for duplicating the held copy-once content into a rewritable medium (0104); and a management part (0103) for bringing the copy-once content as the duplication source into a reproduction disallowable state, when duplicating the content, wherein the content can be reset reproducible, and the copy-once content as the move source can be kept to be held in the recording and reproducing apparatus (0100), and the high image quality copy-once-content can be viewed again, by receiving re-moving from the rewritable medium (0104).
