PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correct an amount of fuel injected during transition based on the pressure of a suction pipe and an air/fuel ratio and to accurately control the air/fuel ratio in a fuel control device for an engine. SOLUTION: The fuel control device includes an operating condition detection means 51 to detect the operating condition of a vehicle so as to discriminate a transient state, a suction pipe pressure detection means 9 to detect the pressure of the suction pipe of the engine, an air/fuel ratio sensor or O<SB>2</SB>sensor 25 installed in an exhaust pipe, a basic fuel calculation means 50 to calculate a basic fuel injection amount based on the number of revolution of the engine and a suction air amount, an air/fuel ratio feedback control means 52 for feedback control of the basic fuel injection amount based on a detection result of the air/fuel ratio sensor, and a transient fuel correction means 53 to correct the basic fuel injection amount. The transient fuel correction means 53 corrects the basic fuel injection amount based on the suction pipe pressure detected by the suction pipe pressure detection means 9 and the air/fuel ratio detected by the air/fuel ratio sensor 25 when the operating condition detection means 51 discriminates the transient state.
