PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for preparing a particularly high purity copper sulfate aqueous solution or a copper sulfate aqueous solution containing iron sulfate in which copper ion is efficiently eluted and a particularly high purity copper sulfate aqueous solution or copper sulfate aqueous solution containing iron sulfate is obtained with high production efficiency, and to provide copper sulfate aqueous solution or copper sulfate aqueous solution containing iron sulfate. SOLUTION: A ion generation vessel 2 is divided into an anode chamber 21 and a cathode chamber 22 with a hydrogen ion exchange membrane 23. In the cathode chamber 22 gaseous hydrogen is released from the surface of a cathode 24 and in the anode chamber 21 supplied with a diluted sulfuric acid aqueous solution or a diluted iron sulfate aqueous solution, copper ion is eluted to the anode chamber 21 from an anode 25 formed from pure copper plate or≥6 N high purity copper plate to form the copper sulfate aqueous solution or the copper sulfate aqueous solution containing iron sulfate.
