PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for easily mass-producing a metal nanowire with a diameter of 20 to 50 nm and a length of about 0.2 to 3μm, and to provide a metal nanowire. SOLUTION: In the method for producing a metal nanowire, a stress gradient is loaded on atoms or molecules as driving force, so as to diffuse them, and thereafter, the diffused atoms or molecules are collected using physical constraint, and are grown, and thus the production of a nanowire having a high aspect ratio is made possible.
