PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tableware separating device capable of automatically dropping all the tableware on a tray while suppressing the scattering of leftover food with simple constitution. SOLUTION: The tableware separating device comprises a conveying device for conveying a tray 42 on a table 40; a tray locking piece 32 preventing a fall of the tray 42; a fall guide piece 50 for guiding the fall of the tableware from the tray 42; a guide rope 64; and a fall auxiliary guide 66. The fall guide piece 50 can contact the inner surface of the tray 42 with one end in an inclined state, and the center part of the guide rope 64 is curved almost along the inner surface of the tray 42. Flat tableware prevented from falling by a tray edge part 42A is separated from the tray 42 to fall by contact with the fall guide piece 50 and the guide rope 64. The tableware left without being separated is separated from the tray 42 by the fall auxiliary guide 66 provided at a height close to the upper end of the tray edge part 42A.
